Kids Can Make a Difference

We received this email from a parent this week. What an awesome reminder that all of us can make a difference no matter what our age, income, or circumstances.

We just wanted to share with you a fun story with you about our daughter, Annie. When disaster struck Haiti in January, Annie (at the time 5 years old) was heartbroken by the very small pieces of information she heard about. In February, she informed us she was going to go door to door selling her “art” so she could send the money to Haiti. So we weren’t so sure about the door to door thing and in passing said maybe when it was warmer she could set up a craft stand. Well, she never let us forget about it and has been crafting almost every day since. So this last Saturday she setup a stand in our neighborhood selling all her bracelets, picture frames, Lego creations (she put her brother to work), super cute hair clips made with help from friends, and lots of baked goodies. So far she’s raised $860 to send to World Vision for Haiti. There’s still a few more “orders” that are coming in! Anyway, just wanted to share the story with you.

(She is up to $880 and her principal was sending her to other "interested teachers") WOW!!
