The Buddy Ministry seeks to provide 1:1 support for kids with special needs so that they can more fully participate within our environments at KVI. Buddies encourage kids to participate in their regular environments, build relationships with their peers, and learn about God at their level of ability. Sometimes typically-developing kids also need additional support for a season as they learn to appropriately participate in group settings, and there are times when the Buddies are able to step in and assist kids with that process as well. Without the Buddy Ministry, some of our parents may not have the opportunity to attend church together. Buddies provide parents with peace of mind that their kids are safe and well cared for, engaged with their peers, and experiencing God’s love through those willing to be used by Him in this special ministry.
